The Building Engineering Services Association (BESA) is calling on professionals across the built environment to take part in new research that with gauge how well the sector is adaption to the UK’s updated building safety regime.
Launched in partnership with analysts Barbour ABI, the survey aims to understand levels of awareness, legal compliance and real-world behavioural change following the introduction of the Building Safety Act. This follows recent planning delays, changes to regulatory oversight, and renewed public scrutiny after the release of Grenfell: Uncovered on Netflix.
BESA’s Director of Specialist Knowledge, Rachel Davidson, says the research is about identifying the barriers still preventing change:
We want to understand why so many organisations are still struggling to adapt. Where action hasn’t been taken, it’s often due to a lack of clarity, guidance or support.
Findings will inform future guidance and education, with a focus on individual competence and organisational capability, as pressure grows to meet compliance without compromising safety.
From SMEs to large contractors, BESA welcomes all voices. You can complete the survey here.
